To create the simple yet striking design, artisans employ ancient tie-dye techniques. Sections of the fabric are tightly tied with thread to create numerous dots & shapes before dipping into vats of colourful dye. The tied knots are then opened, forming a delightful pattern of white dots against the colored background. It’s an enduring family trade - the men do the dyeing while the women painstakingly tie each pin-head sized dot.
